  12. I have a lovely new computer with a problem the dealer says he hasn't
  13. a clue about (and I believe him - he's nice guy but in over his head)
  14. Problem is that the system crashes from time to time and when it does,
  15. there is no more parallel port.
  16. Then I keep resetting (what else could I do?) and eventually I get it
  17. back, as a numerical reference.  
  18. As nearly as I can understand it, both the loss and the recover seem
  19. to be random - if there's a pattern to it, it's beyond me...
  20. I love my computer, and hate feeling it's erratic and unpredictable.
  21. Why, sometimes I even use it to work on, so we can't have that...
  22. I'll be very grateful for any words of advice from the real wizards
  23. out there...
