- Can anybody explain the uneasy relationship between g protocol and
- error correction? I have had varying amounts of trouble with it at
- different sites and different times.
-
- I generally get the best throughput using no EC or compression when using
- g protocol, but another site I connect with keeps EC on all the time and
- says he has problems connecting using g when he turns it off. I disable
- it manually from my side.
-
- sometimes I have experienced errors using g with EC on, other times
- merely a noticable degradation in performance.
-
- A person at another site I know cannot connect at all unless he turns
- error correction off.
-
- What's the deal?
-
- I'd rather just be using f protocol... :-)
