- Here goes.
-
- : #N tiny, tiny.com
- ^^^^^note the inclusion of the domain in the #N line. There
- is some question as to whether this is correct if you are going
- to be including 'tiny.com' in the pathalias entry. (At least I've
- gotten into some arguments about this. :) However, it probably won't
- hurt, and many, many people do it that way. In your case:
-
- #N erato, erato.iowa-city.ia.us (assuming your UUCP name is 'erato'.)
-
- : tiny= tiny.com, tiny.tiny.com, cleveland.tiny.com
- ^^^^^^^^ This states that the domain addresses 'tiny.com', 'tiny.tiny.com'
- and 'cleveland.tiny.com' all point to the same uucp site (i.e.,
- tiny. In your case:
-
- erato= erato.iowa-city.ia.us (again, assuming your UUCP name is 'erato'.)
-
- : tiny .tiny.com
- ^^^^^^^ This is a pathalias entry. It states that tiny connects to all
- computers with addresses ending in '.tiny.com'. In effect, all
- mail to site-x.tiny.com or site-y.tiny.com or site-z.tiny.com is
- routed through tiny. This is used by sites that use the pathalias
- program to help determine correct routing.
-
- (Since you are a subdomain of .US you will not need this. If you
- ever get your own domain, though, you will need to do something
- like this and include an #F line listing the machine which forwards
- mail to you from the Internet.)
-
- tiny wariat(DAILY),turnbull(DEAD),hernix(WEEKLY),brauhaus(WEEKLY)
- ^^^^^^^ And this is the standard line stating our UUCP connections.
-
- To put it into context, here is my full map entry.
