  10. I've grabbed the 'distribute' program (used for munging mail to mailing lists
  11. so the return address will be the list, not the sender) and compiled it, but
  12. mail sent to the test list I've created still has the first header line in the
  13. message as

  15.     Return-Path: <sender>

  17. although the 'Sender:' header line has been properly reset to the name of the
  18. mailing list.  Apparently sendmail is adding the 'Return-Path' header upon
  19. receipt of the mail, because when I use distribute in debug mode the
  20. 'Return-Path' header line isn't there.

  22. When I choose to reply to the test message my mailer (elm) apparently uses the
  23. 'Return-Path' entry, as it routes it to sender, not test-list.

  25. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?  What is the proper way to set up a mailing
  26. list such that mail sent to the list arrives to users so they can simply
  27. 'reply' and have the list address used?  A bonus (which distribute provides)
  28. would be the ability for me to add my own header/footer text to all mailing
  29. list messages.
