- In 2.3, the number of aliases is chosen by the installer. It is fixed
- for hash table reasons for that installation.

- 2.4 threw out 2.3's hash table method and uses a different alias method.
- There is no fixed limit. However, one user runs it with 15000+ aliases
- and reports that startup time is a bit slow (no doubt, we didn't design
- it with quite that many in mind....)
