- To have a signature automatically appended to your mail you must edit
- ELM's init file ($HOME/.elm/elmrc):
- The init file contains a list of variables and their settings.
- For signatures there are two variables:
- "localsignature" and "remotesignature"
- The values of each variable name a file. Edit to your taste!
-
- Here are my settings:
-
- # local ".signature" file to append to appropriate messages...
- localsignature = $HOME/.elm/.localsignature
- # remote ".signature" file to append to appropriate messages...
- remotesignature = $HOME/.elm/.signature
-
- Please keep your signature as tight as possible.
- It should contain your name and your email address.
- After all that's what a signature is for, right ?
- Please keep it down to four lines and 70 columns at maximum.
- But please do not overdo it! Save bandwidth!
