- Let me add a specific example: SGI will offer systems where the overlay
- plane visuals do not have stencil and depth buffers associated with
- them. However, at least one RGB and one ColorIndex visual will have the
- full complement of mandatory ancillary buffers.

- The OpenGL specification has to deal with rendering into visuals with
- different configurations.

- Check out the man page for GLXChooseVisual. It is expected that
- application writers will pick the visual that supports their rendering
- needs. At least one visual will be there that does.
