We are in the process of buying some video equipment for creating videos of our research for presentation at conferences, and for sending to grant reviewers when writing grants for funding support.
My question: We have a SGI Crimson/VGXT, and want to buy a rewritable video disc recorder for recording master sequences (the final tapes will either be in S-VHS or VHS format). To my knowledge, there are only two available, the Panasonic LQ-4000 and the Pioneer VDR-V1000. Does anybody have any experience with either of these? Is there really $20,000 of difference between the two?
