  13. I would like to know if there are any generalised routines for calculating
  14. the area of a 2 dimensional polygon. These will in general be rectangular
  15. but are quite often rhomboidal (you know - squashed rectangles).

  17. There are cases where polygons are re-entrant and so I would need to be able
  18. to handle these as well.
  19.  
  20. Any pointers would be welcome. 
  21. (if you specify papers, I would like information on how to get hold of them).
