  25. I think you're right; my experience in industry has shown that software is
  26. rarely designed, and that it does indeed get written in a very haphazard, ad
  27. hoc fashion.

  29. It also seems that more often than not, producing documentation for software
  30. (which was supposed to be on-line yesterday) rates very low on the priority
  31. list.  It's a rare manager who understands either the need for good
  32. documentation or the time it takes to produce it.
