  14. The son (12 years old) of a friend is very interested
  15. in learning to "program."  He seems to be intelligent,
  16. has a PC, and plays with basic.  (ok, ok,..  he's
  17. 12 years old :-).  well, he has expressed an interest
  18. in a more structured approach to learning.  not just
  19. everyday hacking.  his dad is willing to buy him a
  20. course, or learning materials...  they have looked
  21. at computer camps for kids; but, they all seem to be
  22. courses for learning to use specific applications (i.e.,
  23. WordPerfect)...  which is NOT what he wants to do..
  24.  
  25. Does anybody know of courses, tapes, materials, or
  26. software for elementary education in computer science?
