  19. "...GTE in August announced the nation's largest market trial of
  20. wireless communications services.

  22. Called Tele-Go Phone Service, the comprehensive consumer-market trial
  23. offers two versions of personal communications services (PCS) to GTE
  24. residental and small business telephone customers in Florida's Tampa
  25. Bay area. The trial, which began in September and will conclude by
  26. year end 1993, is a joint product of GTE Mobile Communications, GTE
  27. Telephone Operations, GTE Laboratories, AT&T Network Systems, OKI
  28. Telecom and Northern Telecom Inc.

  32. The experimental GTE Tele-Go includes two versions of PCS.

  34. The first, a fully mobile version, offers an improved-quality cordless
  35. telephone service at home with the advantages of cellular-like
  36. mobility away from home. Customers will have a set number of minutes
  37. of usage for a fixed rate [Ha! Sounds like measured rate to me. -Ken]
  38. when within their neighborhood "home area". Outside the "home area,"
  39. these same customers can continue to use the service -- even when
  40. traveling in a moving vehicle -- for a nominal "premimum area" charge.

  42. The second version employs the same "home area" and "premimum area"
  43. calling and billing options. However, the PCS handset cannot receive
  44. inbound calls when it is outside the "home area." Those calls are
  45. routed directly to a voicemail system and can be retrieved from either
  46. home or preimum areas.

  50. Customers must also be standing still or walking, as opposed to
  51. traveling in a car, when placing calls, as the signal does not "hand
  52. off" from one PCS antenna site to another.

  54. These restrictions will help determine how "mobile" the residential
  55. customers really want to be.

  58. Tele-Go as a replacement of their residential service or as an
