  33.     Hey Scott - It's Jim,
  34.         In this post you mentioned that both modems were set at 16.8k
  35. but I'm curious; when you connected with your friend, did you see a 
  36. "Connect 16.8k" (i.e. you have x4v1 in your init..). A friend of mine has this 
  37. modem as well, and we can't seem to connect at anything higher than 14.4k. We 
  38. are using the same protocol (Telix 3.12) and both ati4's show DS HST..... That'swhy I ask if yours echoed a "connect 16.8k" if so can you post your modem configor e-mail me with it (or even better I can call your modem, try to connect at 16.8k and download your settings at whatever speed it does connect at...) I'm 
  39. still pluggin' away at this and before I die I will succeed. It's not just a 
  40. interest anymore, It's a quest...
