  13. Since this is such a widespread problem, has anyone produced a buffer box for
  14. the Sun serial port?  From what I understand so far (I just got the phone lines rung out at home so a REAL education is in the offing :-) ), a dedicated CPU 
  15. w/ a little memory for a buffer and a 16550 UART would solve the problem for
  16. under $200.  The quick and dirty solution would seem to be a PC w/ a fast
  17. serial port card and either Linux/386BSD/?? or a small assembly language
  18. program to handle the buffering?  Anyone have any comments on this?
