  13. Well, I called ZyXEL from work today.  I spoke to Nick in the tech
  14. support department.  He said he'd never heard of any proposed developer's
  15. kit, but he said he'd received many calls lately from programmers wanting
  16. some kind of help -- source code samples, utilities, etc.
  17.  
  18. I told him that we had 15-20 active programmers on the net who were
  19. interested in forming a mailing list to exchange programming information.
  20. He promised to dig up some source code and put it on an FTP site somewhere;
  21. at a minimum, he said he could get C code for playing/recording voice.

  23. He also noted that third-party developers are working on improved versions
  24. of ZFAX for (among others) DOS, Windows, OS/2, UNIX, Amiga, and Mac
  25. platforms.  I told him that those same 15-20 people on the net would
  26. probably be happy to beta-test.  :-)

  28. He has my phone number, and he promised to call me at my office when
  29. he's gotten some stuff together.  He said that a so-called "developer's
  30. kit" may be started sometime soon, but as far as he knows there's nothing
  31. at the moment.

  33. So that's the story.  When he calls back to tell me what kind of support
  34. he can give us, I'll let everyone know.  In the meantime, I'm still waiting
  35. to hear on the mailing list --- hang in there!
