- A friend of mine is doing a dialup setup in Bombay, India, where
- the phone company delivers relatively noisy lines. What protocols
- and/or brandnames do you recommend for such a situation?
-
- Is it the case that once the protocols are defined, the brandname
- is irrelevant?
-
- Do modems breakdown a lot? Or do they have a MTBF measured in years?
-
- Convenient interfacing to Suns is also an issue.
-
- Thanks,
-
- -ans.
