  13. Hi all,

  15. I've been trying to put two Telebit T1600 to work in a transparent
  16. synchronous modem over a leased line. I've tried the preset modes, and
  17. fiddled with the parameters a lot, to no success.

  19. What puzzles me is that I couldn't make the modems even try to connect. In
  20. the asynchronous mode, it's just matter of setting the modems, turn they
  21. on and they start to scream happily. In the synchronous mode, I hear no
  22. sound.

  24. If I plug it in a PC, configure, and then press the T/D button, it starts
  25. to send the tones. Allright, if I turn it off, and the turn it on again,
  26. it goes back to the dead silence.

  28. Note that I am trying to connect them to two dumb devices, so I _must_
  29. have them configured in another equipment.

  31. Have anybody else done that before ? Any help would be much appreciated ...
