  20. I received mine today.  They're version 1.27.  They came without instructions
  21. but were labled 1.27S and 1.27F.  The board of my 1440E had only two chips
  22. those sizes, and they were at what is the near right corner (horizontal
  23. orientation) or near lower corner (vertical orientation) of the modem if you
  24. use it with the LEDs facing you.  The one nearer the edge of the board was
  25. labeled 1.20S and the one next to the speaker 1.20F, and the scallops faced
  26. the LED's, so the procedure was fairly evident.

  28. At this point I don't know if they make a difference with my problem.  I
  29. don't have an MS-DOS machine, so I've never used the fax features, where
  30. some of you have reported troubles.
