  24.   Everybody has a different answer about the internal/external debate..

  26.   But as a BOCA owner, I can say that it is a fairly decent modem, with
  27.   a few quirks. But as I write this, BOCA has begun to ship a new ROM
  28.   version (v1.27) that is supposed to fix the known bugs..
  29.  
  30.   If you do purchase a BOCA, try the command ATI3, that will tell you
  31.   what ROM version is in the modem. If it reports 1.2, you can request
  32.   either the chips from BOCA like I did, or perhaps attempt to exchange
  33.   it direct to BOCA for a newer modem with the ROMS installed.
