  12. The subject line said it all:  Is there anything in the FAQ of those news
  13. group, or are there any white papers on the subject achived somewhere on the
  14. net.

  16. Sybase seems to have more support from third-party (middle-ware) vendor and is
  17. doing very well these day.  However, Informix is also coming out with trigger
  18. in the Online 5.1 version.  As far as serious imaging application go, seems
  19. like Informix are still the database choice because of their blob
  20. implementation. For example, Informix allow a predefined page size increment
  21. ((8,16,32K) where Sybase only increment on a 2K page size.

  25. Is informix a better choice for a image database and Sybase better for your
  26. typical OLTP. (Wall Street type).

  31. Maybe in these day, the SAG, ODBC ... will really make these database talk
  32. to one another and we don't have to choose between them and have them all
  33. for whatever they are good for......
