- The subject line said it all: Is there anything in the FAQ of those news
- group, or are there any white papers on the subject achived somewhere on the
- net.
-
- Sybase seems to have more support from third-party (middle-ware) vendor and is
- doing very well these day. However, Informix is also coming out with trigger
- in the Online 5.1 version. As far as serious imaging application go, seems
- like Informix are still the database choice because of their blob
- implementation. For example, Informix allow a predefined page size increment
- ((8,16,32K) where Sybase only increment on a 2K page size.
-
- Any information will be greatly appreciated.
-
- Is informix a better choice for a image database and Sybase better for your
- typical OLTP. (Wall Street type).
-
- If you prefer to eamil me directly, I will summarize result and post.
- Once again, thanks in advance!!!
-
- Maybe in these day, the SAG, ODBC ... will really make these database talk
- to one another and we don't have to choose between them and have them all
- for whatever they are good for......
