  33. I would like also to get software utilities in this direction, who do
  34. lossy audio compression on WAV (16 bits stereo or less) or VOC or any
  35. other PCM soundfiles...

  37. This software utilities could be a non-realtime implementation !

  39. So it would be possible to compact the WAV-audio that comes with the
  40. new MPEG movies to a smaller format, so that the audio doesn't take so
  41. much disk space. Then it could be converted back with a nonrealtime
  42. decompressor to WAV again and can then be played together with the
  43. MPEG video file.
  44. This would help to store a MPEG video and audio clip in a very small
  45. file size...
