  18. All I know are the AHA3101 and AHA3210 chips.
  19. Both chips use the DCLZ (Data Compression LZ) algorithm.
  20. A floppy with DCLZ software in C is available from the manufacturer.
  21. The AHA3101 needs external SRAM and compresses 2.5 Mbyte/s
  22. The AHA3210 has its own RAM and compresses 10 Mbyte/s
  23. Both chips are only available as 100pin Plastic Quad Flat Pak
  24. The AHA3210 costs in Germany about DM 200,-- (~ 130 US$) in 
  25. quantities >= 10.

  38. We are currently looking for a chip which is smaller (and cheaper)
  39. than the AHA3210. We only need a compression rate of about
  40. 0.5 Mbyte/s.
