  12.  Well - I suppuse such a suggestion would upset all the Waffle BBS types
  13.  here who enjoy comlicated interfaces because they deter inexperienced
  14.  users, however, I was wondering what the reaction has been around here
  15.  to RoboBoard BBS.
  16.  For those of you who don't know, RoboBoard BBS is a full EGA/VGA graphi
  17.  cal BBS package with a freeware term. It uses a proprietary graphics
  18.  standard, allowing the use of icons and a mouse over the term. The icon
  19.  language in particular allows for much faster and pixel edited graphics
  20.  as opposed to draw box fill here stuff the NALPS proposes (though it
  21.  does that too).
  22.  The package has not been without some bugs, but is only four months
  23.  old so some patience here is required.
  24.  It will run all ansi doors, although there are not as of yet any Robo
  25.  specific doors out yet.
  26.  It has an excellent draw package and icon editor - thus allowing for
  27.  greater ease of use than currently avail NALPS packages.
  28.  It does not allow users to log on with anything less than the term for
  29.  it or EGA/VGA graphics, although it will automatically prompt a user
  30.  to dl the term package if that happens.
  31.  It utilizes a Hudson style message base and dorinfox.def drop file, all
  32.  owing it to be used in a BBS carousel program for silmultaneous use wit
  33.  RA/SBBS/QBBS for example.
  34.  I will be willing to post this package on a ferw ftp sites for those wh
  35.  are curoious. IT is breathtaking and looks very much like Windows. TO
  36.  many of you i suppose that is not a great advantage, although it sounds
  37.  like in some places around the world where RA and SBBS are getting bori
  38.  ng it would be a breath of fresh air.
  39.  The debate over excluding mono users and old commodore/amiga/mac types
  40.  has been done to death on Fido, with the only concensus being that old
  41.  programmer types are shocked while newer users with newer equipment are
  42.  quite happy and couldn't care less.
  43.  Let me know and i will ftp to your chosen site. Please try to choose
  44.  something that is not so off the wall that others don't know where to f
  45.  ind it.
  46.  Would be very interested in hearing reactions from at least those who
  47.  at least view it locally (speed is not that much worse remotely). And
  48.  if the Waffle types could contain there enthusiasm for colour for a mom
  49.  ent and stay with the tour it would be helpful...:)
