- I was recently able to allocate a spare 286 PC to setup as a dedicated
- BBS here in Boston. Before I get in over my head, I thought I would
- ask for opinions (facts welcome also) and experiences on possible OS &
- BBS combinations for this sort of hardware.
-
- I plan to stuff some hard disk storage on thing (100M - 500M) and
- attempt to run 1-3 serial lines (intellegent serial card, perhaps?)
- into it. I'd like a reasonable upgrade path to some combination of
- better hardware, a "doors" facility (Jim Morrison optional), and a
- _secure_ capability to utilize and share network resources.
-
- Usenet is a distant maybe and Internet mail capability is intriguing,
- but certainly not required.
-
- All things possible... Please send email directly & I will post a
- summary of replies, if I get some.
