- WNMAIL.ZIP is a well thought out and designed Windows 3.x based
- software package for the purpose of exchanging e-mail and files
- "uucp" style. This package looks VERY good. Unless I have not
- read the accompanying documentation correctly, this software is
- not shareware or even demoware.
-
- The apparent idea behind this software is that it be widely
- distributed, those who like the software, would sign up with the
- only "uucp" connection to which the software will connect. The
- destination is "hard-coded" and only the phone number can be
- changed (for the purpose of eliminating the area code). This
- renders the software useless for my purpose. I do not consider
- this package demoware since it is can only be demonstrated if if
- a decision is made to sign up as a subscriber of the service to
- which the software connects. This involves completing a screen
- with a credit card number and other applicable information.
-
- I would like to see this software re-released as shareware.
- It's a more than just another mail program. It's easy to
- configure and (apparently) use. Most Importantly, it runs under
- Windows. It could gain a large following since many people
- could benefit from having (expanded) access to internet mail. I
- don't agree that WNMAIL should benefit from free distribution if
- the internet connection is restricted to a single commercial
- venture.
-
- Meanwhile, I need Windows compatible software that allows me to
- get my internet mail at home without costing me a fortune.
