  22. Users of this machine should be aware that this archie
  23. currently serves much of Europe and also handles other
  24. tasks, as well. Given the magnitude of the task, I'd
  25. suggest that its response is quite understandable.

  27. Still, help is on the way in that since we anounced
  28. licensed support for archie a number of additional
  29. European sites have signed on and should be running
  30. supported archies in the new year.

  32. FYI, we are also finishing up changes to the telnet client
  33. that will ship with the system (not the p.d. version
  34. available on the net, but the one you speak to when you
  35. telnet to "archie.wherever") that will allow support of 8
  36. bit character sets and easy replacement of the on-line help
  37. and other text. This obviously will make it much easier to
  38. offer additional language support. We expect a
  39. French-language archie to be on-line in January or so, and
  40. other may follow.  (heck, Bunyip will even arrange
  41. translations ourselves, for a suitable fee..  :-)
