  20. I have just uploaded the latest version of Richard Horne's voice command
  21. system for the amiga to the following ftp sites:

  23.           wuarchive.wustl.edu : systems/amiga/incoming/audio
  24. and   amiga.physik.unizh.ch : amiga/new (whence it should eventually
  25. move to amiga/util/misc)

  27. The wuarchive directory also contains AniMan, which uses the same
  28. library, but has a less recent version of it than VCLI 5.1 (so use the
  29. VCLI 5.1 version).

  31. A couple of hints:   Make sure that you have set binary mode in ftp when
  32. you get these files (this is 
  33. the most frequent cause of complaints that the .lha archive is corrupt).
  34. Make  sure that you flush libraries (avail flush) after installing the
  35. voice.library, or reboot, before running VCLI 5.1 the first time.

  37. VCLI is a must have piece of software for anyone interested in speech
  38. recognition. It also makes for great demos (you can use it to tell
  39. prodraw to make a blue circle, for example). It's even a quite useful
  40. tool (I use it to page through my mail, by having it send arexx commands
  41. to the VLT terminal program).  Don't get it unless you have an audio
  42. digitiser (but they are cheap, and well worth getting).

  49. This is version 5.1 of Richard Horne's Voice Recognition 
  50. Software. It allows you to control amiga applications by 
  51. speaking to the machine. It runs in the background and is 
  52. multitasking friendly. Since it works by template matching,
  53. it is not restricted to any particular language.

  60. 1.  I've added an option to select CIAB Timer A or Timer B.
  61. I've had reports that Timer B conflicts with some other
  62. programs (AirLink in particular).

  64. 2.  I've added an option to load altenate command files
  65. by voice command rather that having to return to Information
  66. to make a menu selection.

  68. 3.  I've added an option to turn off VCLI's spoken confirmation
  69. of commands.

  71. 4.  The command file now stores the entire VCLI configuration
  72. including Sampler, Timer, Confirmation, Output, Resolution, and
  73. Scope Display mode.

  75. 5.  I've made a few changes in voice.library to make it
  76. more bullet proof. ...

  78. 6.  And finally, I've fixed the font problem. ... I have made
  79. the VCLI display immune to selection of other system fonts.
