- To try to answer Mervyn's questions:
- 1. I figured it out by a. reading the Merging Text-block
- files entry in the 3.0 manual. There they discussed the topic in the
- context of "'boilerplate' articles (or clauses)" and I thus assumed that
- the boiler subdirectory might have something to do with it all. I haven't
- figured it all out yet (I haven't tried to make a .bpl file from the
- Create choice in the Style menu, for instance.) I knew about the extention
- from the set-Other-File/ (this from memory - the menus ought to clarify it)
- because 4.0 doesn't seem to be able to find my .run files inthe xpl sub-
- directory and I've tried to reset that location to get it to work (it sill
- (that's "still") hasn't - goes to the last entry in my path statement, then
- says it can't find the file in that last place (presumably after having looked
- at all the other places in my path, but never in nb4/xpl - go figure.
- Then b. making a test.bpl file, putting it in the boiler sub-
- directory, and trying it out. It works fine.
- 2. As far as I can figure out, the .bpl files ought to all
- be kept in the same place. You can change that place (see the set-files
- etc. sequence above), but once changed, that's were the program looks for
- the files. You could have different setups loaded in different batch
- files for different uses, but I haven't tried other tricks in this area
- (like having the .bpl files inthe current directory - I expect it wouldn't
- work, but I don't know.)
