- Well, some things in 4.0 are problematic, but there is no comparison between
- the upgrade to 3.0 from 2.0 and the one to 4.0 from 3.1. Nota Bene, and the
- world, is simply more complex. I've been on the phone with NBI a few times
- and have resolved most problems. I have faith in the future, more now than
- a few months ago. Most problems Mervyn reports have to do with a couple of
- things he really likes, and all of us have our like and dislikes, but 4.0
- is still flexible enough to compensate for this. Some people bemoan the loss
- of the "info" command. That's a drag, but I hardly ever used it because the
- manual was simply better. I think it's still too early to pass judgment on
- 4.0 since NBI are aware of many problems and are working to fix them. And,
- for the academic, it simply does so much more than those "other" programs.
- There, I've voiced my opinion, and now I'm setting "nomail" for a week
- while I go on vacation!
