- There are several ways of finding out a _registered_ Internet Host name
- for a Bitnet node. Of course if the NAD did not bother to register
- this equivalence in the Bitearn Nodes database using the Bitnic's
- UPDATE procedure, it is more difficult to find (but not totally
- impossible).
-
- Perhaps the easiest way, if you have access to Bitnet Messaging e.g.,
- VM TELL or VMS SEND, is to issue the following command to your closest
- listserv site --
-
- TELL LISTERV AT node SHOW NODE bitnode /INTERNET
-
- If you would like a list of ALL such registered names, the following
- could be sent to retieve the monthly-updated file (1015 lines currently)
-
- TELL LISTSERV AT BITNIC GET INTERNET LISTING
-
- (Of course all of the above Listserv commands could be sent via RFC822
- mail or a flat file to either the listserv's Bitnet or Internet address
- e.g., listserv@bitnic.educom.edu.)
