- In regards to the Texel DM 3024 CDROM drives.
- I have installed one of these drives using an Adaptec 1542 host adapter
- and the Trantor driver software.
- We are using Meridian's CDNET software. It worked very nicely and appeared
- to operated more quickly that the Hitachi 1700S drives that we have been
- using. However, that might be expected considering that they are rated to be
- not only faster access drives but also double speed. The thing we won't
- know for a while yet is how dependable they are. I ordered six more of them
- in spite of that.
-
- Look at the newest issue of PC Magazine. It picks the NEC CDR 74 as the
- editors choice, but, says generally good things about the Texel.
