  2. Having just been given 2 515mbyte SMD drives, I would like to get them
  3. connected to my PDP11/23.
  4.  
  5. I currently have a Dilog DQ20X controller which emulates RK05 drives.
  6. Unfortunately I have no documentation or software for this controller, so
  7. I was wondering if anyone could help me out ?

  9. Currently I have connected up one drive, and it spins up ok and the online
  10. light on the drive comes on. When I try to access the drive using RT11
  11. using DUMP /TERMINAL RK0: I can hear some accessing taking place but RT11
  12. reports that it cannot read the device.

  14. Does anyone have any idea of what the problem is ?
  15. There are 5 dip switches on the controller card and I don't have a clue
  16. what they do, so I guess the problem might be these.
  17. The drives I have can be configured to have different numbers of sectors per
  18. track ( currently 48 sectors per track ). Do I need to change these, and if so
  19. will I have to reformat the drive ?

  21. All suggestions will be gratefully received as I really am quite desperate to
  22. get these rather nice drives online !
