  25. All of this says to me is that a utility as site specific as Finger will
  26. never satisfy everyone.  Furthermore I feel that an organization such as TGV
  27. should not bother to try.

  29. In the early days of multinet, TGV supplied the source to finger, we
  30. modified that source and thats what we run today (with no clusterwide
  31. fingering :( ).

  33. My I suggest going back to supplying source for simple "religious" utilities
  34. such as finger either on the TGV distribution or via ftp from
  35. public.tgv.com?

  37. Sure we can grab one of the many Unix versions out there and rewrite it, but
  38. it would be a whole lot easier to work with a VMS functional source to begin
  39. with.
