  19. Hi,
  20.     A while back I posted a note concerning occasional file
  21. create errors of the following form:
  22.
  23. %MAIL-E-SENDERR, error sending to user audiodev@cbgrle.mit.edu at
  24. -PMDF-E-FCRT, File create error, Pascal status = 2, VMS statuses = 99684 and 0
  25. -PMDF-I-TEXT, cannot create channel queue entry
  26.
  27.     It turned out that we were mixing IN% and SMTP% protocols
  28. in a given MAIL session. Simply requiring the use of only one
  29. of these form solved the problem, but in hindsight brings up an
  30. interesting question.
  31.
  32.     Why would all incoming mail on a machine newly updated
  33. from CMU TCP/IP to Multinet suddenly start using the SMTP prefix
  34. on ALL incoming Internet mail? I don't seem able to determine the
  35. cause of this change. As far as I know, it was nothing I did during
  36. the switch from CMU to TGV code, at least knowingly... :-)
  37.
  38.
  39.                                 Thanks in advance,
  40.
