  15. This raises an interesting point.  My understanding is that in 
  16. the past, UKnet has censored certain newsgroups because of fears 
  17. over either illegality or tabloid publicity.  Given that UKnet 
  18. was at one time the only gateway of any significance into the UK, 
  19. I could sympathise with their concerns to some extent.  They would
  20. almost certainly be in the position of being considered the Chief
  21. Pornographer or Prime Mover or whatever.  But now that UKnet is
  22. only one of the service providers, and might be just one of many
  23. players in the commercial IP business within a few years, surely 
  24. it's time to rethink this policy?  If others can now provide a full 
  25. and uncensored feed into the UK, why can't they do it?  If anything, 
  26. by continuing to censor, they may potentially make things worse for 
  27. the people providing a complete news service if there are problems.
