- Just wait. No govt can afford to build enough roads to cope with the
- demands of cars, ours is too scared to place any serious restrictions
- on car use (since it's one of the few large British industries likely
- to surive the Govt's "leaner fitter" slimming diet), and they have
- ideological objections to public transport. Consequently it is just a
- matter of time before every major city locks up into gridlock. It's
- already happened in some places, e.g., York in the rush hours, and in
- many others pedestrians can outpace the traffic in the rush hours.

- Then you just have to wait until the drivers abandon their cars
- because of starvation etc., and send in the mobile car crushers (these
- handy devices don't exist yet, but there's clearly going to be a big
- demand for them soon).
