- There has been a lot of dissatisfication expressed with the
- quality and cost of the cable companies in the triangle area.
- I, too, am less than pleased with the service and am curious
- if anyone else would switch companies if the choice was
- available. So, here's a little survey. Please email responses
- to me (key@mcnc.org) and I'll post the results.

- 1. Do you believe you should have a choice between cable companies?

- 2. If you could choose between one or more cable companies, would
- you switch from the one you are currently hooked up to? Would
- you switch only if the hookup is free or would you switch anyway
- to get better programming and services?

- 3. What are your major complaints with the current cable company?

- 4. What services would you like to see cable companies offer that
- you are not currently receiving? (i.e. cable service that is
- compatible with today's high-tech electronics--be specific please).

- 5. What is your opinion of your cable company's:
- a) timliness of response to service calls?
- b) knowledge of customer service representatives?
- c) professionalism of customer service respresentative (are
- you treated with courtesy or are they defensive and brusque)?

- 6. What programs would you like to receive that you are not
- currently getting? Would you like an option of receiving
- fewer channels for less money and/or more channels for more
- money (this used to be referred to as tiers and is no
- longer available as far as I know).

- 7. Have you ever had problems with your monthly statement? If so,
- how difficult was it to get the matter resolved?

- 8. Do you think the bill is received far enough in advance of the
- due date? If not, what do you consider a reasonable amount of
- time?
