- Yeh, I know- at his deathbed Ramakrishna said to Vivekananda,
- "He who is Rama, and He who is Krishna, is at once Ramakrishna."
- Im not arguing that Ramakrishna was God-realized, but I am not
- convinced about taking the above quote literally. Some people
- consider Rama and Krishna to have been direct manifestations of
- God (ie. no evolution through incarnations). This would mean
- that a literal interpretation of the above quote means that
- Ramakrishna also had no previous incarnations. However, some
- masters have said that Ramakrishna *did* have previous
- incarnations, which implies that Ramakrishna was a specific
- soul, a soul that did not incarnate as Krishna or Rama.
-
- Sri Yukteswar once said to Yogananda, "Save a few mysteries for
- later". This one is certainly a mystery for me which will have
- to wait (not that it is crucial for me to know anyways).
