- Anthony Rose Responded regarding the Trinity issue:
-
- >>Thank you for the information. Now, for your information, the prophet
- >>Joseph Smith thought this understanding over 150 years ago.
- >
- >>From what source do you get that? In "Teachings Of The Prophet Of
- >Joseph Smith", compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith, there is a speach by
- >Joseph Smith that says that he ALWAYS taught that they were two separate
- >GODS! So how do you get thie doctrine out of that?
-
- The prophet Joseph Smith taught that the word "one" in the passages where Jesus
- referred to his relationship with his Father is more correctly translated
- as "agree".
-
- For your information, the book titled, "Teaching of the Prophet Joseph Smith",
- is only excerpts of his teachings. If you want, I get you the referrence
- (I don't have it here).
-
- I already explained that the plurality of the Gods refers to the personage,
- and not to different godly qualities. God the Father, God the Son and God the
- Holy Ghost are separate individuals, but they all posses the same Godly attributes.
- There is only one Truth, on perfect love, one perfect mercy, one perfect knowledge,
- one perfect judgement, etc. And all those who posses these attributes in their
- perfections are Gods, even one God. This is how it is possible that Jesus Christ
- can not only be a heir to the Father, but an actual inheritor, even so his Father
- has not died. The bestowal of Godly attributes doesn't diminish the Giver, nothing
- is taken in the process.
-
- Col 1:19
- ========
- "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;"
-
- Col 2:9
- =======
- "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
-
- Hebrews 1:8-10
- ==============
- "But unto the Son he saith, Thy trone, O'God, is for ever and ever:.."
-
- "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity: therefore God, even thy
- God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness abovethy fellows."
-
- "And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth;
- and the heavens are the works of thine hands:"
-
- The Father says regarding Jesus Christ:
-
- 1. He, Jesus, is his Son
- 2. He, Jesus, is God
- 3. He, the God of Jesus, anointed him (Jesus the God has a God, his Father)
- 4. He, Jesus, is the one who created the heavens and the earth
-
- Now, will you, Anthony Rose, believe the "Word"? The Bible is plain on this
- subject, unlike the orthodox Christian belief regarding the Trinity, which
- as you claimed, is incomprehensable.
-
- I give you the challenge, to put aside all theological statements, and examine
- the record, the Bible, and read all passages dealing
- with the relationship between the members of the Godhead, and decide for your own
- self. To do it right, there are a few things needed:
-
- #1 Open mind
- #2 Must take all passages into consideration, both pro and con
- #3 Don't disprove scripture with scripture, but resolve all apparent contridictions
-
- If you do this, I am confident that you will come to a much different conclusion
- from your current belief.
-
- With brotherly love,
