- That's one way to look at it. Here's another:

- Father creates from dust his children. He puts them in a huge room
- filled with wonderful toys. Then he puts one still-wrapped toy in
- the middle of the room, and says: Play with whatever toys you want
- EXCEPT this one. Then he <gasp> leaves the room.

- What do the children do? Surprise, surprise. "God", being a
- dysfunctional father, SET THEM UP TO FAIL >in advance<. This
- (along with much of the hebrew testament) makes "God" look
- like a petty tyrant.
