  31. That is exactly the point, if gun ownership was all it took to create violent
  32. criminal, then Switzerland should have thousands of murders a week. They
  33. don't, therefore the argument that widespread ownership is not the only factor
  34. in our country.

  40. The Bill of rights mentions that on one hand and private gun ownership on the
  41. other. Read the AntiFederalist papers. The original wordings from some
  42. of the states made it clear that personal protection as well as the defense
  43. of the country was on the minds of the folks who drafted the Bill of Rights.

  45. In other words the right to keep and bear arms is a means to a militia, but
  46. it is not the only reason that private ownership must not be infringed.

  54. Problem is that in some parts of our screwed up country they have declared 
  55. it illegal to defend yourself in your own home with a weapon! So does that 
  56. mean if you come home and find some thugs raping your wife and daughter
  57. and you shoot them that you have to be put in front of a firing squad?
