- Sort of. I don't see a need for a distinction between physics and
- philosophy, insofar as the object of both is to establish the truth about
- the world. (ie. I think positivism can eat crud and die) This does not
- mean that I like everything which goes under the name of `physics' or, for
- that matter, `philosophy'. To `be' however is to exist, which should mean
- that anything which `is' is a legitimate object of `physical' enquiry. I
- don't know where morality and aesthetics fit in here though. That a thing `
- is' beautiful does not necessarily mean that beauty `is', and that it `is'
- good to _do_ some thing, does not necessarily mean that good `is' in the
- sense that a stone `is'. It _might_ mean that in both cases, but I have no
- argument either way.
