  19. Good description, Charleen.  For the most part, it's not a painful procedure,
  20. just somewhat uncomfortable. If having a mammogram hurts a lot, the X-ray tech
  21. isn't doing it right.

  23. A tip:  if you're prone to sore breasts before your period, don't have a
  24. mammogram done at that time.  
  25.  
  26. And remember:  mammograms are only about 80% effective in detecting breast
  27. lumps, so be sure to keep doing those monthly self-exams, also.
