  30. 1)  Don't initiate the 'dear' routine yourself
  31. 2)  Refer to anyone who calls *you* 'dear' as snookums.
  32. 3)  Otherwise, maintain as calm a 'tone' as possible.

  34. This usually works for me unless, of course, you are posting to
  35. soc.feminism, (not to be confused with alt.feminism!).
