  11. I wonder if people here would regard Chippendales'
  12. men-calendars etc as inoffensive if they had been to the
  13. ladies night night at a local strip-club that I attended*.

  15. The behaviour of the women in the audience was fairly
  16. horrible.  They were shouting, grabbing at the men, playing
  17. with them like they were toys.  Even the waiter in a g-string was
  18. part of the floor show.  One member of our party said to him
  19. "she wants to touch your bottom".  "That's what I am
  20. here for," he replied.  I do not think that men at female
  21. strip show could have behaved worse (I have heard, indeed,
  22. that generally men are polite during such shows).

  24. If this is the way of the future - some men being reduced 
  25. to sex toys for some women, while some women remain as male
  26. sex toys, it makes me sad.  While I would agree that at the
  27. moment the calendars are mainly fun and a reaction to
  28. swimsuit calendars, I am not sure that this "affirmative"
  29. action is taking our society somewhere that we would want to
  30. go.

  32. (Oh, and if you are interested, the all strippers - except
  33. one - undressed entirely.  I think this actually
  34. added to the objectification.  The men became "dicks" the
  35. way female strippers can be reduced to "tits and cunts")

  40. it was organised as a pre-wedding party for a friend of
  41. mine, who had expressed a strong dislike for the idea.
  42. Little as I wanted these people to have my money, support 
  43. for my friend seemed to outweigh this.  In retrospect I really
  44. regret having attended.
