- My experience is different. I've never seen women complimenting strange
- women on their bodies or their sexual appeal, but this happens frequently
- with clothes. Also with hairstyles, though less frequently. I've had
- complete strangers come up to me and tell me what a flattering color I
- was wearing. And I have one pair of shoes that I can't wear without
- at least one or two female strangers telling me "cool shoes." Usually
- I just say "thanks" and that's it; sometimes they ask me where I got them.
-
- It seems to me that men less often compliment strange women in a way that
- sounds as innocuous. It's a question of tone.
