- Sure, I know myself well enough to know I would feel more than
- a little uncomfortable ("passive embarrassment"?) around a
- fellow classmate completely in the buff, but I suppose that
- nudity is his/her right.
-
- The only thing that gags me, and makes me think I would probably
- support some sort of rule that at least bottom undies must be
- worn, is the cleanliness aspect. We all share those little
- desks, and I would no more like to put my little rump on a spot
- just caressed by someone's private-est part than I would want to
- plop down onto a park bench that had just had a pile of vomit or
- dog poopy wiped off with a paper towel. I mean, YUK!
-
- Now, while said student MAY keep him/herself completely pristine
- at all times, there is no law that says one has to bathe. At least
- if you are wearing underpants, something is protecting you from the
- germy desk seat and the germy desk seat from you.
-
- And any woman OR man who changes his or her undies on a daily basis
- cannot refute that a desire for clothing variety is NOT the reason
- we doff those skivvies every night/morn for a fresh pair...
-
- Of course if you want to stand in the classroom, bring a towel or
- stadium seat, or plunk down on the icy tile floor, I have absolutely
- no objection to you coming to class wearing nothing but a smile.
-
- (tho I can't help but laugh at the thought of Jay Leno's monologue last night:
- "Yeah, well, let's see how dedicated he [the "in"famous Berkeley student]
- would be if he went to school in Michigan."--or something like that!)
