- called Lou Ann, Luenna, Leeann, Lori, Laura, Laurel, Loren, Lorne and
- Laureen. During a stay in Britain, a Yorkshireman, when told my
- name, asked me why Americans felt this compunction to use silly names like
- Heather, Justine and, of course, LAUREN when they could just use
- down-to-earth names like the Brits use. Right, thought I, like Fiona and
- Ivor and Prunella.
