  44.     Try explaining how to pronounce "Cal" to your new classmates in
  45. elementary school. It inevitably comes out "Cow", which is a source of
  46. endless fun and amusement to some. "Cow", "Cow Patty", "Cow Lot" (my last
  47. name is Lott), etc.

  49.     Cal is also fun for junior high: "Cal-ifornia", "Cal-Can", "How
  50. now Brown Cow."

  52.     Now that I am supposedly more mature, though, I have come to
  53. appreciate having a less common name.
