- Don't have any good advice for you, just an anecdote about my
- experience:
-
- I'm Jewish, and for many years I promised myself that I would limit any
- relationships to Jewish females. Well, guess what? I met an absolutely
- wonderful woman who wasn't Jewish. We sort of slid into a relationship;
- at the beginning, I basically told her LJBF. About a month after I
- admitted to myself -- and her -- that we were in a relationship, I had a
- religious crisis, where I had to decide between my religion and my
- relationship. I chose her.
-
- I don't know what I would have done had she pushed me into making a
- decision, but it looks to me like your friend isn't going to take the
- initiative the way I did. IMHO, you should arrange a time for
- discussing this, and say (perhaps more diplomatically), "I love you very
- much, and I want a real relationship with you. It's tearing me apart to
- have this half-relationship, and I want you to decide -- not necessarily
- right now, but soon -- where you want the two of us to go."
